Version 1:

Fabric A (white):
Cut (1) 7″ square

Fabric B (teal):
Cut (1)7″ square, (2) 4″ squares and (4) 3-1/2″ squares

Fabric C (purple):
Cut (2) 4″ squares

Block Assembly: Refer to block diagrams

  1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of A 7″ squares and B 4″ squares.
  2. Place (1) A 7″ square right sides together with (1) B 7″ square. Sew 1/4″ on either side of the diagonal line, then cut on the drawn line. Press open and square to 6-1/2″ to complete AB Units.
  3. As in step 2, use B and C 4″ squares to create BC Units. Square 3-1/2″, make (4).
  4. Sew (2) BC Units and (2) B 3-1/2″ squares together to create BCB Block. Square to 6-1/2″, make (2).
  5. Sew BCB Blocks and AB Units together to complete the Version 1 Block.

Cut (1) 7″ square, subcut once diagonally for (2) Half Square Triangles (HST)

Fabric B (teal):
Cut (2)4″ squares, subcut once diagonally for (4) HSTs, (3) 4″ squares, and (4) 3-1/2″ squares

Fabric C (purple):
Cut (3) 4″ squares

Block Assembly: Refer to block diagrams

  1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of B 4″ squares.
  2. Place (1) B 4″ square right sides together with (1) C 4″ square. Sew 1/4″ on either side of the diagonal line.  Press open and square to 3-1/2″ complete BC Units.
  3. Sew (1) B 4″ HST to each side of (1) BC Unit, then sew together with (1) A 7″ HST to create a BCA Block. Square to 6-1/2″, make (2).
  4. Sew (2) BC Units and (2) B 3-1/2″ squares together to create BCB Block. Square to 6-1/2″, make (2).
  5. Sew BCA Blocks and BCB Blocks together to complete the Version 2 Block.
